Nacha Alert: Beware of Spoofed Calls Claiming to Be From Nacha
Nacha Alert Message:
Nacha has received information that multiple organizations that originate ACH payments received a spoofed call claiming to be from Nacha.
The caller stated that Nacha needed to review the originator’s current ACH file, and that the caller would send the originator a website link to connect.
Nacha does not reach out to organizations to request this information.
To assist you in reaching out to your originator customers, we have drafted an email to alert them and provide steps on what to do should they receive a similar call.
Thank you to the financial institution that reached out to their Payments Association about these calls. Communication among our organizations is key to preventing this type of fraud.

We want to alert you to reports of fraudulent phone calls from individuals falsely claiming to represent Nacha. These scammers are targeting organizations that originate ACH payments, stating they need to review your current ACH files and may offer to send you a website link to collect information.
Please remember:
Nacha will never contact you directly to ask to review ACH files in this manner.
Follow your organization’s data and cybersecurity policies regarding sharing sensitive information or credentials and clicking on links provided by unknown callers or emailers.
